A Romantic and Moody Elopement Story in the Heart of Glencoe
I'm very excited to share Kirsten and Thomas's beautiful story with you today, set in the heart of Glencoe on blustery, rainy, and moody winter afternoon. I'll never stop being in awe of the incredible landscapes I'm so privileged to visit - each story I capture weaves its own tale and I love nothing more than exploring with my couples.
A Story of Two Halves
Kirsten and Thomas got in touch months ago and told me about their plans to elope in a spot that holds a special place in their heart - Glencoe. I'm a firm believer that where you choose to get married is a significant decision - the place you'll remember for the rest of your lives as the very spot your journey in life took the next step. It's always a place you can return to together, to reminisce and share stories. Kirsten and Thomas chose Glencoe Lochan for their ceremony, only a stones throw away from where they were staying at Glencoe House.
They also chose to get married on their 15th anniversary, meaning they've been for as long as they've not known each other. Together for half of their lives.
After getting ready surrounded by the snow-capped mountains, we set off to the lochan, where Rona conducted a beautifully intimate handfasting ceremony.
Afterwards, we ventured off deep into Glencoe to Glen Etive, meandering through it's single track roads as the clouds wailed above us. There, in the valley, they read their personal vows to one another, in complete silence and privacy. The only sounds were the trickling of water down the mountainside and birds circling above.
If you're thinking of eloping in Glencoe, read my Glencoe Elopement Guide for ideas and get in touch if you've got any questions.
